Growing up, Alvaro remembers looking out his window at vineyards
And after a career in IT as a software developer and moving up, up, up to CTO, he quit in 2017 to return to his love - wine!
Starting with 500 bottles his first vintage, he remains true to making live wines with healthy grapes!
Penedès is close to Barcelona and is the largest vine growing region in Catalonia, Spain.
It is Mediterranean climate and is close to the sea.
The vineyards are grown biodynamically and worked by hand only. Harvest is in small boxes to preserve the fruit.
The grapes are all local varitals - malvasia sitges, xarel.lo, parellada & ull de llebre.
The cellar is located in a typical Catalan country house 'Masia' where wine has been produced for over 400 years.
Only native yeast and no intervention in the cellar.
Very little to no sulfur is added.
from Alvaro:
"I am an artisan wine producer. My target is to create live wines with healthy grapes. My philosophy is hand work at the vineyard and low intervention in the cellar. My work at the cellar is just to put the conditions to allow the grapes become wine in a natural way."
